So you’re off to the snowy mountains! Being Canadian, we know winter, and we embrace it in all its glory. Whether you’re a ski bunny, snowshoeing queen or après ski lover, we’ve got some winter packing rules and outfit inspo for your trip to the peaks. Dresssing appropriately can mean the difference of an epic winter trip or a miserable one.
There is a tendency to take every item of warm clothing you own when packing for a winter mountain trip. Trust us, its not necessary!
Number one rule: keep warm. Toasty feet are imperative so bring a pair of waterproof boots with a track sole. Sorel and Kodiak have stepped up their fashion game to make super cute boots. Pack lots of wool socks and a fun wool beanie (to help with helmet hair) and wool slippers for back at the cabin.
You don't usually think of swimsuits for winter weekends, but in ski country, hot tubs happen! Most mountain hotels and resorts have one. Pop one in your bag just in case. It also looks great to have your toque on while in the hot tub!
Pack your favourite pair of comfy jeans, and a slim-fit tapered jogger pant. Both look great with winter boots. Cashmere track pants are another great winter staple. Add a plaid shirt or fun graphic tshirt for the bar; most ski accommodation and restaurants are toasty warm. To top it off, a puffy coat that covers your bum will keep the chill away. For nights out on the town, a fun fuzzy statement coat (either fur or faux) is a fun way to show off your chic winter style.
